Tour of Mexico

Italians Lead the Tour of Mexico

SALTILLO (Mexico) - The Tour of Mexico isn't speaking anything other
than Italian. Since Cauz took the first stage, Antonio Finelli, the
Puglian track-man who will ride for Glacial- Selle Italia in 1996,
won the second stage, a circuit around Villa Santiago, where the
riders went on strike, believing the roads to be too dangerous in the
 rain.

Having got an agreement to shorten the course, and that all riders
would be given the same time as the stage winner, the boys were back
 in the saddle again.

Fanelli, who got into the race by riding for Gianni Savio's
MG-International squad, put 10 seconds into Frank (German) and Sergio
 Previtali to win stage two.

On the third stage, Monterrey-Saltillo (83 Km), Michelangelo Cauz
recorded his second win when he pipped Maurizio Tomi and Sergio
Previtali. A native of Treviso riding for the Rudy Project composite
squad, Cauz leads the General Classification standings.

Today (Tuesday, 7 November) the stage is from Puerto Madero-Zacatecas
 (138 Km).
