Ruta Mexico '95 to Espinoza - last stage to Pierobon

The president of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo, was starter for the 16th and last stage of Ruta Mexico '95, a 12 lap circuit race up and down the Reforma and around Gandhi. (Quote from Mexican news agency Notimex: "experts compared the circuit with with the one on Champs-Elysees in the Tour de France.")

The winning break came on lap 10 when Gianluca Pierobon and Jesus Zarate went away. Pierobon won the final sprint easily. The main group was 27 seconds behind.

Luis Espinoza won the race overall, the mountain classification (230.000 pesos worth in all) and was in the winning team, Manzana Postobon.
