  • Solidarity Tour - Poland - Review

It's the second important cycling race in Poland, which will begin on the 28th of May at Opole, and end on June 2 in Lodz. The race director is Mieczyslaw Nowicki, bronze medallist from 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Four professional teams will start: US Postal Service (USA), Tico (TCH), Continental (GER) and Mroz (PL). There will be few national squads, such as Belorus, Czech Republic, Holland, Israel, Latvia, Ukraine and Switzerland, the regional teams from Cottbus and from Heidelberg (GER), and (maybe) Estonian-Finnish group. Together with them, we'll see the best Polish amateur(?) groups.

There will be 9 stages in six days (1124 km). The most interesting one be the one to Bielsko-Biala (through Przegibek - hill crossing), and to Nowy Sacz (through the villages in Tatra Hills).

Total sum of the prizes is 8300 new zlotys (about 3200 $).
