Report
L'Equipe writes: "Only history will tell if a great career began today
in Brittany for the young (23) American Gregory Randolph, a
member of the US selection, who will soon be joining Motorola Like
a certain Greg Lemond, not long ago a revelation in the Ruban
Granitier Breton, Randolph drew admiration for ably leading an
escape of 130km, in very unpleasant weather (wind, rain and now
and then hailstones). The American first of all got rid of five of his
break companions -- Pillon, Barthe, Bourout, Rault and Kouznetsov -
- and then the last, Francois Urien about 30km from the finish."
