Report

27-year-old Flemish rider Nico Eeckhout took his second successive victory in this race in the Nord de France on a flattish route with a loop of hills at around 60km. Local rider Cedric Vasseur initiated the decisive move on the climb of the Estree-Blanche, causing splits in a leading group of 24 riders that had led from the first hour of the race. A new split on the plateau at the top of the climb had Eeckhout, Vasseur, Desmet and Cueff clear. Vasseur tried for a long one one kilometre out but the sold Flemish rider beore down on him just before the line.
