New ICU Board

The International Cycle Union - Aicpro has a new board. Chosen members of the board: Bjarne Riis, Claudio Chiappucci, Olaf Ludwig, Gerard Rue, Herminio Diaz-Zabala , Orlando Rodrigues, Johan Bruyneel and Erik Breukink. For the first time there are active riders in the board.

Armstrong

Comforted by the negative results on his last exam in Indianapolis, the Texan is superating the drama of his cancer and has been riding as much as 100 kilometers a day. The ex- World Champion will travel to Europe to watch the Classics: Flanders, Roubaix and Liege from April 6th to the 20th.

Trofeo dello Stretto

There will be many Italians riding on Saturday at the Trofeo dello Stretto. Some of the names participating in the race will be Gabriele Colombo, Federico Profeti (last year's winner), Michele Bartoli, Fabrizio Guidi and Filippo Casagrande. These are some of the teams that will participate: Team Polti, Telekom, Refin-Mobilvetta and Brescialat.

Paluan in hospital

Andrea Paluan fell on Saturday at the Trofeo Pantalica and is recovering at the Catania Hospital from a fracture of the left clavicle.

Pantani

Marco Pantani has decided on his program until the end of the month. After Murcia, the 'pirate' (what happened with 'di elefantino'?) will ride Milano-Sanremo (if his team is invited), Semana Catalana, Criterium International, Paesi Baschi, Fleche Wallone, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Amstel Gold Race.

Tour of Chile

Kelme and Festina in Chile - Spanish Team Kelme and French Team Festina will participate in the next edition of la Vuelta a Chile, which begins tomorrow and will finish the 16th. The peloton will be composed of 15 teams, six of them foreign teams. Last year's winner was the Frenchman from Lotus-Festina, Christophe Moreau, but Miguel Moreno, sport director for the team has indicated that this year they will have Pascal Herve, second in 1996 as team leader.
