Milan-San Remo Correction

Lars Michaelsen actually came in as 16th. All the results from 16 downwards therefore move down one place -- Jalabert 17th etc, and the number of finishers increases to 165. Incidentally, a fifth victim of the pile-up (as well as Jalabert, Museeuw, Sciandri and Michaelsen) was Mauro Gianetti.

Bike Auction

One of the most extensive antique bicycle collections in North America, ifnot the world, will go on the auction block on April 6th in Chicago, Illinois. The Schwinn family collection of 160 bikes, dating back to the 1880-90s, will be sold at that time. The collection was housed at the Bicycle Museum of America for three years, until the organization lost its lease last year. Unable to find an alternate plan to house the collection, the Schwinn Family Trust has decide to put it up for sale. A pre-sale exhibition will be held from March 31st to April 5th, with the auction starting at 1 pm on the 6th. The location is Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, 215 W. Ohio St., Chicago. Call (312) 670-0010 for more information.
