Trophy Pantalica - Italy

Fabiano Fontanelli won the sprint from a group of five riders that went away with 35 kilometres to go in Trofeo Pantalica. This was his third victory this season after GP d'Ouverture and the stage to Antibes in Tour Mediterraneen.

The race was very difficult in the windy conditions. Only 29 riders out of 147 made it to the finish inside the time limit, 46 were eliminated and 72 abandoned.
