Tour of Campania
Calendar watchers should note that the Tour of Campania, scheduled for 11 March,
was not run this year.
Murcia Proves Unlucky For Roslotto
Piotr Ugrumov (Lithuania, Roslotto-ZG) will not start the Tirreno-Adriatico
stage race tomorrow having fallen heavily during the final time trial stage
of the Vuelta a Murcia on Saturday.
Ugrumov needed 10 stitches in the right wrist, three in the scalp and one in
the wrist.
Maurizio Fondriest (It, Roslotto-ZG) has withdrawn from the
Tirreno-Adriatico stage race, which starts tomorrow (March 13). He crashed
on a descent near the finish of the second stage of the Vuelta a Murcia.
Fondriest finished the stage but did not start the next day.
He is suffering from inflammation in the tendons of his left knee.
Tirreno-Adriatico is usually good preparation for Milan-San Remo on March 23.
