In case anyone wondered, Miguel Indurain is not (he said earlier in the
season he might) riding this race. I suspect, as in earlier years, he's at
home with Prudencio putting in some final climbing practice.
Carmelo Miranda (Banesto) won today's (19 June 95) 181km fourth stage of
the Route du Sud from Saint-Gaudens to Plateau de Beille. Laurent Dufaux
(Festina) was second. As expected this stage, which had a summit finish at
1939m, marked the end of Thierry Marie's overall lead, which has gone to
Dufaux. The race finishes tomorrow.
