Three places to be filled depending partly on medical tests. Emmanuel
Magnien crashed in training and is being checked to see if he has a
fractured scaphoid; Jean-Cyril Robin crashed in the French
championships and has damaged a metacarpal bone. Bruno Boscardin and
Stephane Goubert are also runners for the final places.

Update

Further to yesterday's report, both Emmanuel MAGNIEN and Jean-Cyril ROBIN have been given a clean bill of health and will be at the start of the Tour on Saturday. The final Festina team place will go to the Italian Bruno BOSCARDIN. The rationale of his choice over Stephane Goubert is that there are already seven climbers in the Tour selection and Boscardin is needed as a rouleur who could bring up Virenque in case of a split in the peloton, or could lead out sprinter Emmanuel Magnien.

FULL final team selections (barring last-minute changes) will be available tomorrow (Wednesday, June 26).

Team lists with race numbers will not be available until Saturday (and from me at least not until Monday after the Tour has started).
