Jalabert Elbows Way Back On Bike
Laurent Jalabert has not had to wait as long to get back on his bikeas stories
in L'Equipe, reported here, suggested. A fortnight after a successful operation
on a double fracture of the scaphoid in his left hand, and in plaster up to the
wrist, Jalabert has been riding on a home trainer for a week and will this week
be allowed to take to the road, with the proviso that he only uses tri-bars and
keeps his weight on his elbows and off his wrists.
He will be able to attend the
ONCE training camp between 9 and 19 January in southern Spain. Jalabert has
pencilled in a start of season programme that begins with the Tour of Majorca
(11-15 February), a few rides in France (Classique Haribo, Tour du Haut Var
22-24 February) and then the Tour of Valencia (28 February--3 March).
Is That Indurain?
The Banesto team jersey re-design for 1996 will include each riders name in a
band on the upper back.
