Riis - Sportsman of the year in Denmark

The readers of Ekstra Bladet, a Danish daily newspaper, has elected Bjarne Riis as Danish sportsman of the year 1995. He was also winner in 1993 and second in 1994 to boxer Jimmy Madsen.

Mystery sickness strikes ex-World Champ

Three months after being sent home from the World championships in Colombia, together with team-mate Chr. Andersen, 1994 world amateur champion Alex Pedersen still don't know what has left him totally powerless. Even after numerous tests doctors has not been able to diagnose his sickness.

"Of course I'm very worried about my condition. It's difficult to feel so sick and not know what is wrong, says Pedersen."
