G'day Bill, You might want to mention that next years Latrobe Wheelrace
which is part of the Tassie Xmas Carnivals is worth
$14,000, yes fourteen to win. Its a 3000 metre handicap.
Maybe some of your reader's might like to know about this unique
experience of racing in Tassie in front of crowds of up to 20,000.
Early-Season Winners
Colombian Raul Gomez won the Vuelta al Edo Tachira, run in Venzuela between 2
and 21 January. Fellow Colombian Alberto Gonzalez (Postobon) took the overall
victory in the Clasica Manizales (dates not known) with stage wins from
Colombian Henry Cardenas and Italian neo-pro ???? Frigo, both of the Selle
Italia-Glacial team.
New Swiss Team
Former RMO directeur-sportif Jacques Michaud is to take charge of a new Swiss
team, Loup Sport Swiss Team.
