Zanotti triumphs...

The race came down to a sprint between Zanotti (Edile Prefabbricati), Valentini (San Pellegrino-Bottoli) and Valentini's team-mate Dancelli, 4th Saturday at San Geo.

Zanotti prevailed on the line.

The race was enlivened by the Ukrainian duo of Fedenko and Simonenko, who took off and stayed away for 70km, establishing a maximum lead of 3'10".

They were reeled in 30 km from the finish line eventually.
