Colombo first leader in Calabria

Gabriele Colombo won the first stage of Giro della Calabria after jumping away two kilometres from the finish, at the moment when the peloton caught early breakaways Vandenbroucke and Coppolillo.

Gabriele Colombo (It, Gewiss-Playbus) won the 192km first stage of the three-day Giro di Calabria, three seconds ahead of Giovanni Lombardi (It, Team Polti) and Alessandro Baronti (It, Ceramica Panaria-Vinavil).

Stage 2

Giovanni Lombardi (It, Team Polti) won the second stage of the Giro di Calabria, 171km from Castrovillari to Amantea (February 28), outsprinting Fabiano Fontanelli (It, MG Technogym) and Francesco Arazzi (It, San Marco). Lombardi has the overall lead, one second over Stage 1 winner Gabriele Colombo (It, Gewiss-Playbus).

Stage Three

Michele Bartoli (It, MG-Technogym) won the third and final stage of the Giro di Calabria, 172km between Amentea and Eufemia (February 29), outsprinting Gabriele Colombo (It, Gewiss-Playbus) and Rodolfo Massi (It, Ceramiche Refin). The final overall went to Colombo, with Massi second at 11 secs and Bartoli third at 14 secs.
