A field of 29 riders toughed out the annual 300 lap point score derby. A
strong AIS contingent dominated the race, allowing riders Michael Rogers and
Baden Cooke to gain a lap during the first half. Former Northern Territory
junior cyclist Neil Robinson came into form during the latter part of the
race to dominate the sprints and came over a tired former world champion
Brett Aitken to win the final sprint and edge out Aitken for third place.
