Nico Emonds - 52,466 km
Nico Emonds made another attempt for the hour in Bordeaux Wednesday
(12/6/95). In November he did 51,801 km (and took the Belgian hour record
from Eddy Merckx).
His goal this time was not to take the record, but to go further than
Indurain's 53,040 km. That failed with 574 meters, but he bettered Chris
Boardman's mark from 1993 and was just 247 meters from Grame Obree's best.
With his 52,466 km Emonds is now the fourth fastest hour-rider of all times.
