Presentation of Spanish tour stages

Jean-Marie Leblanc and Bernard Hinault from the Societe du Tour de France will be in Pamplona, Navarra, Tuesday to honour five time winner Miguel Indurain and present the stages of 17 and 18 July 1996.

The long (260km) and difficult stage from Argeles-Gazost will take in five big climbs, Aubisque, Marie-Blanque, Soudet, Port de Larrau and Cuesta de Remendia before passing through Villava, Indurain's hometown and finishing a few kilometres away in Pamplona.

The next stage starts in Pamplona and has a few smaller climbs before the finish in seaside resort Hendaye, just across the French border.

Recent stages in Spain has been 1991 (Jaca) and 1992 (San Sebastian). The Tour also passed through Catalonia in 1993 and climbed Puerto de la Bonaguia in a stage that started in Andorra.
