Fondriest for ZG in 1995

Maurizio Fondriest has signed for the new-style ZG for 1996,. The team will
ride Fondriest bikes, the general manager will be Moreno Argentin and the
directeur sportif Massimo Ghirotto. Fondriest will take with him from
Lampre the Ukrainian Alexander Gontchenkov and the contracts of Stefano
Cattai and Andrea Ferrigato have been renewed.

respectively, for Festina and Castellblanch.

Tour of Burgos, Stage 1, Burgos--Roa de Duero (7 August 95)

Armand De Las Cuevas, last year's winner, and subsequently the winner of
the Clasica San Sebastian did not start, having been expected to do so.
Tchmil won stage 1 having broken clear at an intermediate sprint 15km from
the finish, taking Magnien, Armstrong, Ekimov and Santa Maria with him.
Tchmil and Ekimov only just held off the peloton up the final one-kilometre
climb.
