Nelissen takes second race in 3 days
Danny Nelissen who won the Ridderronde in Maastricht on Wednesday
night after outsprinting Patrick Jonker (over 100 kms), on Saturday
won the Drielandenomloop, a road race for elite riders with and
without contracts. The Three Lands Race takes its name from the
fact that it starts in the Province of Limburg (South East Netherlands)
and enters Germany, Belgium after starting in the Netherlands. It
finishes back in the Netherlands in the border town of Bocholtz.
Nelissen, 25 years old, from Rabobank and the former world amateur champion, had more than a minutes time gap on Belgian, Erwin Thys and
his Dutch Rabobank teammate, Erik Dekker (who also figured prominently
in the Maastricht race the previous Wednesday.
