More on Zabel

[Bill notes: Don't the Germans just love talking about Zabel! :-)]

More press releases in Germany report about the new contract of Erik Zabel with Telekom. It is said that the length of his contract - two years - is also a hint that the Telekom Company will definitely stay in the professional cycling scenery for this period. Still it's not clear who'll become Co-Sponsor (rumours say it's the Danish chewing-gum company Stimorol), but that negotiations develop well.

Zabel confirmed that one more rider shall be engaged by the Team Telekom to do some work for him at the sprint arrivals. So far, no names were mentioned. At the Vuelta d'Espana, the "second suit" of Team Telekom will take part - mostly the riders who have to show good performances to get a new contract for 1997.

And Bugno and Drugs

Press agency DPA reports that Gianni Bugno didn't take dope in the Tour de Suisse. DPA quotes the UCI in Lausanne, saying that his high Testosterone level is really a result of his high natural production of this stuff and that he has presented a medical opinion at the Tour de Suisse.
