Another EPO Test Victim

Wim van Sevenant (Belg) will not be allowed to start in the 3-Days of de Panne because he has returned an excessive hematocriet-value after an EPO test. He has lost his license for 14 days.

Fabio Baldato also will not start as has an influenza.

Van der Poel wins Duathlon

Adrie Van der Poel has won a duathlon in Mol, Belgium. The race involved a 3 km walking/running, 20 km mountainbiking and another 3 km walking/running. He won in 1 hour 3 minutes and 11 seconds. Koen Hoeyberghs was second on 13 seconds and Marc Herremans third on 2 minutes 23 seconds.

"The combination running and mountainbiking is nothing special for me. Regulary I run in the neighbourhood of my house a round of 8 kilometers".

Pantani in Amstel Gold Race

Marco Pantani will start in the Amstel Gold Race on April 26. Mercatore-Uno received a wild-card from the organiser Leo van Vliet. Besides Mercatore-Uno the teams of Palmans and Foreldorado/Golff have been given a wild-card by organisers.

GP Hannuit, Belgium

I reported that the GP Hannuit was abandoned because there were only 7 entrants. Well, my mate Hans reports that there were in fact only 4 riders instead of 7.
