The weekend was free of racing, with most clubbies riding in the "Tour de Murray", a local charity fund raising event consisting of a family walk, swim or ride events up to 77kms. A sunny sky and a breeze growing out of the north was a mixed bag of weather for riders. The return home from Lindemans winery into the wind was "fun" behind the big engine and the Doctor. There is nothing like riding at about 7kms per hour above your race average just because you can, is there?
Tuesday evening's time trial is the 2nd last before the Lunarfest wind up and the last opportunity for riders to rise to the challenge of a 1 lap personal best time. Unfortunately the usual southerly was making it difficult and the l lap record (10:28) remains intact. Still, there were some reasonable times posted considering.
New comer Michael Osborne recorded a decent time for his first effort in this event. Damian Wells was expressing despondency afterwards that his meteoric rise may have come to an end. Just wait for the winter series Damian and the beckoning of the scratch bunch, you'll enjoy that !
This Sunday is a criterium at Wentworth, part of the Two Rivers Triathlon, with a scheduled commencement time of 1pm. Next Tuesday is a 16km TT.
