ITeamNova.com team manager Sean Yates showed he is still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to racing. Back home in Britain after taking his team to the Malaysian Tour de Langkawi and carrying out promotion work back in Australia, Yates won the 32.5-mile East Surrey Hardriders time trial on Sunday, March 3.

Yates, who last won the event back in 1997 with a record 1-08-58, was best of the 100-strong field with 1-10-42 after puncturing in the last five miles.

A wheel change put him back in action but destroyed any hopes of another record ride. Britain's national 50-mile champion, Northern Ireland's London based Michael Hutchinson (Team MDT-Giant) was another puncture victim but still managed to grab second place with 1-13-07, just two seconds faster than third placed Malcolm Cox (VC St Raphael).

Yates takes up his managerial duties again this week when he travels to Belgium for Thursday's European launch of iTeam Nova.com in Ghent where Aussie Allan Peiper will be the MC.
