The Masters and Women's race started the days programme at 8am. With a bunch of 55 riders it was obvious after the first half an hour of racing that the large field weren't going to allow any escapees off the front. Prominent on the front where the Sutherland Club contingent and never far from the action were Kate Brown and Rochelle Gilmore.

After 45 mins of racing, the 3 laps to go board came out and the jockeying for a good position in the sprint began in earnest. Not content to wait for the finish straight, Liam Kelly made the early move and in the end the 20metre gap he opened proved enough, with Rochelle Gilmore outsprinting the chasing group to claim an impressive 2nd place.
