The race this year was given increased importance with the entry of professionals, Brendon Vesty (Navigators) Matt Yates (Net Zero) and Brendon Cameron (Simpatico.com). For Vesty it's part of his build up for the world championships in Portugal where he will start the pro road race with Glen Mitchell (Saturn), New Zealand's two riders in the men's pro road race.
