Mauricio Henao of the Indervalle team easily won the fifth stage of the Vuelta de la Juventud Colombiana. The stage was an individual time trial of 21.3 kilometres, disputed between Chinchiná and Manizales in the department of Caldas. Henao took 42'51 at an average of 29.82 km/h to win the stage.
Luis Felipe Laverde (Aguardiente Antioqueño) placed second in the stage, only 14 seconds behind Henao. The third place went to Giovanny Baez (Aguardiente Cristal), 26 seconds behind. Mauricio Ardila (Aguardiente Antioqueño) lost 40 seconds to Henao to finish fourth, while Wilson Cepeda (Educar Mundo Didáctico) lost 1'01.
Race leader Giovanny Chacón (Indeportes Gobernación del Tolima) finished in sixth place, but kept his leader's jersey.
