Stage 6a - November 6: Ouagadougou - Kaya, 101.5 km

Another win for Marco Polo

The first of today's stages was won in a sprint by Marco Polo rider Bram de Waard. The pelotom policed the first kilometers thoroughly, reeling in many escape attempts and the marco Polo team similarly neutralised more attempts after the first Hot Sprint at 32.5km, which was won by Marien.

The second half of the stage was marked by a four-rider break of Lepeurien, L. Zongo, Dupas and Gand, who built up a 1.10 gap, but that too was not to be as the peloton caught them. The final attack came from Cumont, but the peloton reacted and reeled him in after he built up a 20 second lead.

With the peloton reformed it came down to a bunch sprint in the narrow streets of Kaya, with de Waard the strongest.
