Norwegian Cyclo-cross Championships

Rune Høydahl of Giant and Drammen CK has won the first Norwegian Cyclocross championships in convincing fashion.
After a lap with the pack, getting used to the skinny tires and the drop bars, Høydahl put on the pressure and dropped the rest of the field to win the race in Holmenkollen.
The venue more known for ski jumping and hosting the 1952 Winter Olympics provided a nice backdrop for this, for Norwegians, novel type of bike racing.
Aslak Mørstad Johansen of Styrkeprøven.no/IF Frøy came in second while his club mate also from IF Frøy, Ole Kristian Sørland had to fight for third all the way to the finish. Petter Jørgensen, Styrkeprøven.no/Follo SK just missed the podium, while Steffen Kjærgaard of US Postal Service/Glåm.Nitt rounded out the top five.
In the Sport Men the couriers from Første Mann grabbed the two top positions, as well as a lot of the others.
Gjertrud Bøe of Follo SK won the gold in the women's class without contention.
