Festina Garden State Cycling Cup #1 Highpoint Hill Climb

1st VeryFine GP

Boston, MA, May 13, 2001

Report

On Sunday May 13th, the Boston Road Club hosted the inaugural VeryFine GP in the towns of Littleton and Harvard, Massachusetts. The course was a demanding seven mile loop that featured an undulating two mile climb and a fast downhill finish at the VeryFine Juice company. Riders in all categories were either using their 53x11's or wishing they had them, especially the Juniors who faced gear restrictions. Throughout the day , the crowd was treated to a variety of finishes including pack sprints, small breakaways, and solo victories.

Unfortunately, the main pack in the Pro 1/2/3 race was disqualified due to excessive and extended yellow line violation during the final three miles.
