17th Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin - 2.9.1France, May 18-27, 2001Main page Results Previous stage Stage 8 - May 26: Limoux - Espéraza, 122 kmBessette keeps yellowWith just one day left in the 17th Tour de l'Aude, it looks as though Canadian Lyne Bessette will hang onto her leader's yellow jersey after a brilliant ride in yesterday's stage deposed Edita Pucinskaite. Her lead was tested in today's hilly 122 kilometres, containing three category one climbs, and two category three climbs, but Bessette finished the stage in the main peloton, 1'41 behind a group of 8 riders who were no threat to her lead. The break had gone at the half way point, and Autotrader.com had placed two of their riders in it (Katrina Berger and Sarah Ulmer). Ulmer was the best sprinter of the lot, and was given a good leadout by Berger to take the stage. The race finishes tomorrow with 120 kilometre circuit starting and finishing in Limoux.
