The 22 year old Ukrainian beat Hungarian Balazs Rohtmer by 4 seconds and Yaroslav Popovych by 6 seconds. The decisive break came with 30 km to the finish, on the climb of the Poggio Gavarone when a 5 man group (Popovych, Barla, Rohtmer, Cappè and Bileka) escaped. The race came to a bunch finish after Yaroslav Popovych (Zoccorinese), was chased down by the peloton with 1.5 kilometres to go. It was Loddo's seventh victory this season.
