Paddy Flanagan Memorial
Dundalk Festival Race

Paddy Flanagan Memorial and Dundalk Festival Race

By Tommy Campbell, Irish Independent/Evening Herald/Sunday Independent

Thursday evening in the towns of Kildare and Dundalk, two criterium events were held with victories going to Tim Cassidy and Brendan Doherty. They were both part of festivals in the respective towns and both race organisations were rewarded for their efforts by an enthusiastic turnout of competitors. In Kildare, Tim Cassidy foiled Ray Clarke of three in a row. This season in particular the young Cassidy has been showing a good turn of pace which brought him a well-earned victory. Over eighty miles north of Kildare in the town of Dundalk, Brendan Graham was laying down a marker for Sundays National Road Race Championships, which will be held on the Dunrod circuit close to Lisburn.
