"This is just about the largest XC field we have had for a while and indicates that CORC is on the right path in making its events more assessable to riders of all abilities. Ingeldene is an ideal venue for first times with no huge climbs and lots of singletrack", said race director Rod Higgins. The Senior Men class was won by Brent Miller in a time of 1hr 31m54s, some 42s in front of Baiden Bourke and 24hr specialist Richard Bontjer. The event saw a huge increase in riders that have been traditionally associated with road and track in the ACT, an indication perhaps of the importance those riders now place on keeping fitness up in the winter months. This is also the first event under the CORC calendar that sees the change in ages for the Veteran, Masters and a new class Super Masters. Racing in these age groups was seen by all as more vital and interesting. In line with this change CORC also increased the duration of the Sport A event by 1 lap in an effort to help those riders who are at the cusp of entering the Senior ranks an opportunity to race a little longer than has been possible previously. The next race is the perennial favorite Majura Pines and all CORC events are listed on the website: http://www.corc.asn.au Results
