Longo adds yet another
title (35)
42 year old Jeannie Longo won her 35th French national title today
in Argenton-sur-Creuse, by beating Albine Caillie and Juliette Vandekerckhove
by 47 seconds and 1'44 respectively in the 24.5 km time trial. Although
Longo described herself as "stressed" prior to the championships, with
doubts that she would ride, she turned up and demolished the opposition
once again.

Christophe Moreau finishes
behind teammate Brard
Although it bodes well for the Festina team for the Tour de France,
the 1-2 victory today in the French time trial championships did not
go the way of Tour favourite Christophe Moreau. He was forced to settle
for second place behind his talented teammate Florent Brard, who rode
52'28 for the 43 kilometres. Third went to Eddy Seigneur (Jean Delatour).
"As usual, I am not the champion," said a disappointed Moreau. "However,
I would however like to be it one day..."
Brard returned the compliment: "I am nevertheless constrained to be
in front of Christophe. He is still my leader."
