Cyclocross World Cup #5 - CDMZeddam, Netherlands, January 7, 20012000 Results Results World Cup Standings Nijs impresses againBelgian Sven Nijs won the penultimate round of the Cyclocross World Cup, the GP Nederland in Zeddam. Nijs finished in front of Czech Petr Dlask and Richard Groenendaal (Ned). It was Nijs' second World Cup victory this season, and his seventh in total. Nijs started the race in front with Dlask and Groenendaal and the three stayed together until three laps from the end. Then Groenendaal experienced bike trouble, and lost ground on the other two. He managed to get going again to eventually finish third despite a fall on the second last lap. Meanwhile, Nijs successfully attacked Dlask and finished solo, commenting afterwards that he benefitted from Groenendaal's errors. The latter has a 49 point lead in the World Cup competition from Bart Wellens, who could only finish 7th today. The overall championship will be decided in the final round on January 21 in Pontchâteau, France
