Nico Eeckhout (Palmans) won his third Championship of Flanders after he outsprinted Dutchman John Talen (Spar-Oki) and Chris Peers (Cofidis) in Koolskamp. The trio were 14 seconds ahead of a group led home by Rudi Kemna (Batavus). The peloton was over 13 minutes behind.
