Guidi takes it in 1-2 for FdJ

A bunch sprint ended this edition of the 189 kilometre Brussel- Izegem, and Francaise des Jeux scored well with Fabrizio Guidi winning in front of Lars Michaelsen, with the ever consistent Hendrik Van Dijck (Palmans) taking third.

Guidi, who let it known his intentions to join Mercury next year, said afterwards that he saved his legs on the final four laps in anticipation of the bunch finish and received assistance from the Dane Michaelsen. Another Dane up there in fourth was Linda McCartney's Tayeb Braikia who edged out an improving Jo Planckaert. The latter had a late puncture with three laps to go, but was able to chase back on and contest the sprint.
