Italian Dario Andriotto and Ukranian stagiaire, Sergey Matveyev combined to win the 33rd edition of the Gran Premio Europa paried time trial. The race was held on a 69.7 kilometre parcours in Bergamo, and the winning pair averaged over 51.7 km/h. In second place were Lampre's Marco Pinotti and Raivis Belohvosciks at 1'12, while Amica Chips' Diego Ferrari and Liquigas' Daniele Contrini combined to take the third spot.
