The 73rd Groote Meiprijs in Hoboken was won by Collstrop's Tony Bracke, his second season success for the year. After just 20 kilometres, there was a break of 10 riders, and they gained up to three minutes at one point. With 50 kilometres to go, Bracke attacked with Nico Eeckhout (Palmans) and opened a 15 second gap on a group with Bracke's teammate, Geert Omloop who eventually finished third.
