Tour of the Strathbogie Ranges - NENagambie, Australia, July 26, 2000Tighello makes up for DQNewly crowned Victorian road champion, Robert Tighello (Carnegie) won the second round of the prestigious Tattersalls Cup, the Tour of the Strathbogie Ranges. Tighello made up for his disappointment at being disqualified last week by attacking with 4 kilometres to go in the 165 kilometre race, to win by 14 seconds over teammate, Hilton Clarke Jr. In third place was NSW rider, David McPartland who now leads the overall series. The Tatts Cup events are selection races for the Sun Tour in October, and are hotly contested by local riders. The next race is next Wednesday August 2, the Tour of the South Grampians.
