First up came the race against the clock; with 430 vertical feet of climbing in just over one mile, it most definitely favored the climbers. In the women's event, 800.COM's Lylse Wilhelmi took the stage by a slim two seconds over race leader Kim Bruckner (AutoTrader.com), with Muffy Roy (KuxSun) another four seconds in arrears. Things weren't quite so tight in the men's race, as second overall Steve Larsen (L.L. Bean/Mongoose) not only picked up the win, but also ten seconds of his deficit to race leader Scott Moninger (Mercury), who placed second. Navigators' Brendan Vesty was third with the same time.
