Lineras takes over the lead

The Venezuelan Tony Linares took over the leader's jersey in the Vuelta a Tachira today from Mexican Eduardo Graciani. The winner of the stage from Barinas to Bolivia City was his compatriot Jose Chacón, who is now second overall in the general classification, just one second behind Linares. Chacón took 3.47.58 for the 155.7 km flat stage at an average of speed of 40.979 km per hour.

Tony Linares gained won the first sprint at 69 km, and Jose Loyo the second at 96 km, who is now the sprint leader. The time bonus was enough to give Linares the lead by the end, after his second position in the stage.
