Colombian victory at last

In just the second time of this race, a non-Venuzuelan rider has won a stage. This time, it was the turn of Colombian Ruber Marín (Selle-Italia) who won stage 10 of the Vuelta a Tachira.

Marín, 31, gained the first Colombian victory in a stage after covering the 160 kilometers between Táriba and San Antonio in a time 4.14.20. This brought to an end a run of eight consecutive wins by the Venuzuelan riders. However, they still managed second place with Aldrin Salamanca winning the bunch sprint, 1.34 down on the winner.

Race leader, Noél Vásquez was in 15th place, in the same time as Salamanca and is set to take the overall win with just two stages to go.
