Night 6 - January 18, 2000

Martinello and Kappes prevail

The final night of the Bremen Six yielded some exciting racing, as both McGrory/Madsen and Baffi/Villa tried to challenge Italian-German duo, Martinello and Kappes for their outright lead.

It was not to be however, and the winners from Munich last year took out the race in the end. The final chase was marked by some bery aggressive racing from McGrory and Madsen as they tried to take a lap, but in the end were unsuccessful and had to be content with third place.

Among the casualties of the race, besides Swiss Kurt Betschart, was Mario Vonhof who had a virus on the last night. His partner, Gerd Dörich was then paired with Bruno Risi (Betschart's erstwhile companion).

A total crowd of 126,000 watched the racing over the six days in the Bremen Stadhalle.
