Night 5 - January 10, 2000

The second last evening of the "Six Days of Berlin" saw a huge crowd watch an exciting battle at the top of the leaderboard. Belgians Gilmore and DeWilde got off to a flying start by winning the first chase, but the real action happened in the next hunt, the "Grosse Schultheiss Jagd".

Bartko and McGrory took a lap early on, however Kappes and Pollack stole one late in the race to put them in the lead. In the closing minutes, Martinello attacked the field to gain back the lap, putting him up in front also with partner Marco Villa. In the end, it was the German Pollack who won the sprint from Martinello, gaining them enough points to threaten the overall lead of the Italians, with one night to go.
