The 175 km stage was run between Sancti Spiritus and Cienfuegos, in the center of the island. Babler escaped from a break of nine riders 16 kilometers from the finish, to win in a time of 4:24.34. In second and third places were Cubans Adonis Cardoso (City of Havana), at 58 seconds, and Anatoli Cancio (Habana) at 2:02. In the overall classification, Pedro Pablo Perez (Cuba A) maintained his lead over teammate Yosvany Falcón and Venezuelan Aldrin Salamanca of Táchira Lottery. In the teams classification, Cuba A and B hold the top two positions, with the Táchiran Lottery team in third place.
