Richard Bowker dominated the A-Grade Men's field at Manukau Velodrome on Friday night, winning two of the four races and taking second in both the others. Having returned earlier in the day from the New Caledonia Six Day race, Bowker was unsure of his form, but seemed to improve as the night went on.

The ever-consistent Steven Wallis took the A-Grade Point-a-Lap from Bowker, and Olympic rider Matt Sinton won the elimination and the Mens sprint series.

The small but enthusiastic B-Grade field was nothing if not entertaining. While Benny Devcich finished the evening with a commanding points lead, Steve Northey and Steve Parker ensured that Benny worked for it.

Melissa Holt and Donna Wynd shared the wins in the women's events. Holt, in her first season of track racing won the Point-a-lap and 2000m scratch races. Despite four years away, Wynd was too fast in the 500m Scratch and Win & out.
