Groenendaal imposes in LuxembourgDutch World Champion, Richard Groenendaal (Rabobank) won the third of six rounds of the World Cup, the GP de Luxembourg in Leudelange. Groenendaal was too strong for Erwin Vervecken (RVS Liege) and Czech Petr Dlask, winning by a clear margin. He therefore assumed the outright lead in the WOrld Cup standings, ahead of Mario de Clercq who finished 4th today. Despite a fall in the first lap, Groenendaal still kept his advantage to his rivals for the entire duration of the race. The heavy parcours meant that approximately half the time was spent running, and the other half on the bike.
